SOS is never a paid feature
SOS works on the free plan, on a lapsed subscription and on a poor connection. There is no paywall, no upgrade offer, and not one screen between you and the button.
What happens when it is pressed
An alert goes to the household members and the emergency contacts you set. They see who asked for help and when, and can reach you straight away.
It degrades, but it never refuses
If the live notification cannot get through, SOS falls back to SMS. If that fails too, there is still a siren on the device and a pre-drafted message for you to send yourself. What will not happen is a button that stays silent.
Emergency contacts, inside the home and outside it
An emergency contact can be a household member or a phone number outside the app — a neighbour, a sibling, whoever arrives fastest.
What to know before you rely on it
SOS alerts the people you chose. It is not an emergency response service and does not call the police, an ambulance or the fire service for you. In a life-threatening situation, call your local emergency number first.
