Sharing a home is not sharing everything

Two people who share a life do share data — but not all of it, and not forever. In Asaruma every record carries its own setting: private, open to the household, or opened to named people.

A transaction is open to the household by default, because shared money needs to be seen together. A note and a vault item are private by default. That default belongs to the kind of record, never guessed from context, and you can change it per record at any time.

Balances you can recompute

A balance in Asaruma is not a number we store and ask you to trust. It is the sum of the transactions you recorded, and it can be traced line by line. When something does not add up, the cause can be found rather than guessed.

We never ask for your bank credentials

Asaruma does not ask for, transmit or store your internet-banking or e-wallet credentials, for any convenience at all. Transactions are entered by hand, and that is exactly why a balance can be rebuilt from the ledger. This is a privacy position, not work we have yet to finish.
